Milk challenge warning

I just got some answers as to why my boy had the anaphylactic attack from the milk challenge. You may like to read what happened read More - Anaphylaxis! ... Not always a textbook reaction

Apparently he could tolerate 30mls of milk safely, which explains why he showed no reaction to yoghurt when challenged.

However, cheese contains concentrated proteins which would have equaled 240mls of milk- a huge increase which obviously was way too much for him to cope with.

The delayed reaction was because cheese protein is linked to fat which delays the reaction- in this case a 3 hour delay.

I am feeling so much better knowing this- wish I'd known before, but hopefully my experience will benefit you or someone you know when facing a milk challenge.
